Vinicola Vedovato Mario is a family-run Italian wine company that has been producing high-quality wine since 1950 in Trebaseleghe, a small town near Venice. Guido Vedovato, the founder of the company, was a visionary man, and together with his wife Miranda, they established a personal and attentive approach to wine production.
This philosophy has been a constant throughout the company’s history, allowing it to adapt to changes in the industry while staying true to its values.
Over the years, Vinicola Vedovato Mario has focused on two directions of development: increasing the quality of its products and ensuring the traceability of the entire production process. Under the leadership of Mario Vedovato, the son of Guido, the company expanded its business to include the marketing of bulk wine, first locally, then throughout northern Italy, and finally internationally.
Today, the third generation of the family, Simone and Fabio, continues to uphold the same ethos that has guided the company for over 70 years, emphasizing the importance of meeting the needs of its community, including partners, collaborators, and clients. 1950
The second generation and a new market
Guido’s son, Mario, enters the company and sees that bulk wine sales represent an opportunity to expand the market.
1975
The turning point, international exports
The company is renamed “Vinicola Vedovato Mario” and begins to market wines in Europe as well.
1975
An ever-expanding family affair
Simone and Fabio join the company, supporting their father in the business development process with a focus on quality.
1984
Transport, Vetra S.r.l.
To meet new market challenges, Vetra S.r.l. was formed in 2006, a dedicated company division for transporting of bulk wines.
1998
New directors
Business management becomes even more of a family affair: Simone is appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Fabio becomes a director.
2006
A first expansion
The Trebaseleghe site sees ever-growing demand for bulk wine, so the warehouse is expanded to increase storage capacity by 50,000 hl through the installation of 70 new tanks.
2009
New headquarters in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella
In one of the 5 municipalities of Valpolicella Classica – an area famed for the production of prestigious, superior-quality wines – a 1200-square-metre warehouse is established, providing a storage capacity of 24,000 hl, all dedicated to famed local wines including Amarone and Valpolicella.
2015
A second expansion
In order to eliminate reliance on rented warehouses and bring together the entire storage capacity within the company’s historic headquarters, the latest expansion project was completed, which increased capacity by a further 27,000 hl.
