Slovakians are big consumers of alcoholic beverages, above all beer, which they are also an important producer of. With regard to the wine market, since joining the European Union in 2004, Slovakian consumers have had access to higher quality wines at more accessible prices. Consumption is steadily rising, two-thirds of which is imported European wines. Price is still a decisive element for consumers, even though all analyses of the Slovakian market show a growth trend, however moderate, in quality wines.
For our company, it is a relatively new market, but these trends closely follow the sales over the last few years: white and red wines, even though generic, with superior quality, a good alcohol content, extract and colour intensity. They are joined by rossissimo and varietal wines.
